In Canada we have a store called Canadian tire. It's a general hardware store that evelved from seling car parts(www.canadiantire.com)into a large chain of stores selling home, auto, and sporting goods. The kind of store any male would be happy to get lost in, but one that no self respecting car nut would admit buying parts from(though we all do at one time or another). to make this long story shorter, the people behind the counter are generaly wet behind the ears if you know what I mean( no offense to those competent poeple that do work thier as well, you know your who you are). In my younger years it was considered fun to have the person search for an upper rad hose for a vw bus(the beatle being to obvious), or if the person was particularly astute, a rad cap for a chevy corvair... Amazingly they were nearly always able to find the part, and had it in stock!!! I once purchaced a set of rear springs for my chevette(one of life's little errors, excuse me please). I went home and installed the springs that were an exact match to my springs(except for wire diameter, I later found out). When I lowered the car to the ground I found that it had the rear end jacked up much higher than it should be. In thier books the chevette had the same springs a a Cadilac cimmeron(another of life's little errors). I returned the springs and exchanged them for springs for a pontiac acadian(chevette clone), the counter person swore that they would not fit because his book said so!
Merci
Yvan(now chevette-less)
