wax buildup - what a pain!! 200

Hi guys, - I've got a 240, but this question concerns a problem with my S80. In trying out a new waxer, I sloppily got wax on some of the black body side molding. I've wiped it off, but it keeps coming back, sometimes a month later. I bought "Back to Black" and even though it appears to work for a few weeks, the white wax build-up comes back again . . . and again . . . Any help? Thanks, Fred

I have had that problem on other cars in the past and only twice.
I used a product called GOOF OFF. Than I used a black shoe polish with a Q-tip and "spot dotted" the spot in question.

My favourite for black trim: Autoglym Bumper Care. Twice a year is often enough.

Like on the bumper trim, I found careful application of a toothbrush with car wash soap to work. Rinse and wipe dry afterwards.

-- Kane ... YMMV, of course.

Try spraying some carb cleaner (or other solvent, if you don't have carb cleaner handy) on a rag then rubbing it down, then putting armor all on it.

I'm not an expert, but that sounds like the one-two knockout punch of death there. I wouldn't put carb cleaner anywhere near my paint or any plastic part, and Armor All is notorious for being crappy car care stuff. I have heard multiple stories of how people put Armor All on their dashboards, and soon after, it starts cracking.

I'm not tryin to knock you or anything, that's just what I hear.
