86 and newer door trim 200

Does anybody have any good suggestions on what to use to keep the lower door moldings on my 86 sedan? I've tried the double sticky 3m stuff from checker auto parts, it works good for a month or two and then they start coming off again. I cleaned both surfaces before applying.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

What are you using to clean the surfaces before using the tape? 3M wax and adhesive remover is the best stuff for the job.

There are other adhesives you can use, although they all have their drawbacks. I'd specifically recommend against silicone. It's not a great adhesive in this application. Windshield urethane is a stronger adhesive, but be careful not to get any on your hands or clothing.

RTV silicone adhesive. Make sure everything is clean.
