...and there's a droning sound. I remember reading somewhere that it might have to do with the drive-shaft. Anyway I can test and repair it myself ?

Is it a manual or automatic transmission?

If it's a manual, you'll see/feel driveshaft problems in the shifter. I cannot comment on symptoms in automatics... I had a shimmying driveshaft issue recently, and when I was driving at highway speeds, the vibrations were very evident in the shifter nob.

Front-end bushing / suspension troubles will more likely present themselves through the steering wheel.

My guess is your bushings are due for a replacement.

Shaking mirrors and groaning noises are classic signs of bushings.

Thanks for the reply, what kind of bushings are we speaking of here ? Suspension bushings ? front/rear ?
