Plug wire questions 200 1978

I've got a set of "like-new" Bougicord plugwires I pulled off a junker once upon a time. They're labeled "class F". The wires on my '78 say "class C". What do these letters mean? And, are they compatible?

According to Bougicord's web site (www.bougicord.com):

"Bougicord®, cables adapted to each type of engine. Bougicord® cables are marked with indelible ink during manufacture. This marking gives the product a full identity and specifies the grade of the cable according to its working temperature."

There's a table; Class C has a working temp between -30 deg. Celsius and 120 deg. C, Class F between -30 C and 180 C.

Erling.

Well, that answers my first question, I guess. Other than that, I'm still in the dark. The numbers provided by the website didn't match up with what I'm looking at.

The ends of the wires look different, so I'd guess the answer to question #2 is "No"...

Thanks, anyway.

You need to check the wires' resistance readings to make sure they are compatible with your year car. Resistance readings are given in some of the posts and in the shop manual.

Short note: Don't mix resistance wires with resistance plugs. Too much resistance will give fouling and firing probs.
