kyb shock adjustment? 120-130

this may be redundant, but how do i adjust kyb's gas adjust shocks? i was told they me abit stiff for a 40 year old car and that i should adjust them to the softest setting(?); does this make sense to anyone?
thanx everyone.

Well, KYBs do adjust, 120-130

But, not the ones on our cars. =D The ones that are adjustable are called KYB AGXs and you have the white Gas-A-Justs i assume. Which are by no means adjustable as they said below. Who told you they were to stiff and why? I mean, yes they are quite stiff, but you don't NEED to have something softer unless you want to... My gathered take anyway, peace,

KYBs don't adjust... I suspect you're thinking of Konis.

Never saw a KYB that was adjustable! I think you are stuck with the valving that is built in.

Dunno if this will help or not but the adjustment on my VW's Koni shocks is a small rod with a flattened end poking out of the top end of the upper shock mount. This places it on the other side of the sheetmetal from the shock - under the hood and in the trunk in my case.
