Well, I was going to look for this on the "EVENTS" section, but for whatever reason, I couldn't get it to work, so I figured I'll post it here since the 200 forum is where I spend 99% of my time here.
I know there are a few people on the board I'd like to give personal thanks to for helping me out over the past year or so that I've been a posting here, and it's always interesting to put faces to posters. Also, it's always fun to actually see some of the other board member's cars in person.
Anyhow, I'm going this Saturday. Anyone else?

From a recently taken photograph of course...

Think IPD will give me a discount? I mean, hey, they used those pictures of me for years. I suppose I could argue that I've been working for them since I was 3 years old...
Anyone that really wants to find me, just look for the hat. Can't miss it.

Missed the hat, we obviousdly were never in the same place at the same time. Looked for the fantastic '80, but did not see that either. Did, however, see the twin of my '80 240 wagon and it even had the roofrack, it has been along time since that has happened. Spent too much, both cars will get something. Finally have the Cibie headlight upgrades for the '80. Had a good time, saw some great and interesting cars, someone admired my '92 w40 wagon and asked what year it was; so it was a good day.

Were they paying you every time they used the pic? If not, have your agent drawn and quartered. I think when you get to the garage sale you should argue that IPD owes you a set of overload springs, 4 Bilstein HDs, all new eurothene bushings, new exhaust, 4 new brake rotors, new injectors, new fuel filter, a coupla new fuel pumps, maybe a basic tune up kit as well.
Add anything else you need to this list of demands, and let me know what they say.

I'm sure I'll be the only guy there wearing a Powerpuff shirt too.

I'll be there in spirit. My sister is graduating from WSUV that day. GO Cougs!
Have a good time ya'll.
Hey as long as we're off topic, I had an interesting afternoon today: My sister left the house to go to her night class and calls us a minute later from the car saying that the police stopped her at gunpoint at the end of our street. She said they said to get inside and lock the doors. Few minutes later we see three cruisers rolling slowly down the street with a dozen or so cops with weapons drawn. They close in on the neighbor's house and take up positions in our bushes etc. Then we see our neighbor come out to the street with his hands up and they cuff him.
As it turns out he was shooting rabbits in his garden and someone freaked out and called 911. Poor guy, he wasn't arrested though.
Anyway, it was kinda cool to see them in action.

Discharging a weapon in a suburban backyard and he wasn't charged? My mum grew up in an area where the blocks are all five acres, so there's a lot of distance between houses. Didn't prevent her from having a .303 calibre rifle bullet ricochet off a tree stump on a neighbour's property and come through her window while she was lying in bed.
They really didn't charge this guy?

No they didn't. He informed us that the deputies told him that the law in this county had recently been changed. It used to be that you could fire shotguns anywhere in the county outside city limits. He wasn't aware of the change. In fact the cops were joking afterwards asking if he got any rabbits.

I was equally stunned after reading the story. How was this guy let off after discharging a firearm in a neighborhood? What an irresponsible act on the part of both the idiot neighbor and the police.

There are a plethora of charges that could be filed against him (and at least one should be if it was indeed a firearm and not a pellet gun). IE: Discharging a weapon in a suburban area, discharging a weapon within 400 feet of a residence, failure to secure safe range in direction of fire, etc, etc, etc. While the laws vary a little bit from state to state, they're pretty much the same.
Shoot safe, shoot sober, and secure your targets and range.

Yeah I never liked the idea of this guy shooting, basically, in the direction of our house and being separated only by a line of hemlock trees.
Its also wierd that there are people that hunt geese a few humdred yards away in a field. I dunno if there are certain laws regarding the size of a parcel if land that you can shoot on or what.
Anyway, he was very embarrased and as a responsible gun owner myself I was glad that he's decided to give it a rest.
But I'll really snap if he hits the Volvos :)

One of the supposed advantages of living in a relatively stable democracy, protected by the worlds most powerful army, is that you're not supposed to have to worry about gunfire on your own doorstep.
In the West Bank you'd expect it, but more than 200 years after the founding of a nation, you shouldn't have your neighbours shooting at your house.

I'll be there. Maybe us Brickboarders should actually introduce ourselves?

I was thinking so. I don't see any harm any how.
Also, fellow Brickboarder Kane will be there as well I know.
I should be pretty easy to spot. I'll be wearing the Average White Band Hat as you can see in this picture here:

I don't think you'll see too many of those being worn... heh heh heh...

Hi -
Sorry I cannot attend the IPD blast on Saturday - the drive is too loong. I hope you guys all meet up, it is fun to meet another brickboarder.
Coin tray. The picture you posted shows the row of dovetails below the clock to be bare. My 1979 245DL (RIP) had a foam pad trim strip there, and later I installed a coin tray that uses the same dovetails. The car is gone, I kept the coin tray, it should still be useful. Would you be interested?
Regards,
Bob

Ah yes, we talked about this a while back.
I've added such a tray to my '80, but I would love to get another one for my dad's '77. He's always leaving pencils in the instrument cluster, and they slide about and all...
I'll send you an Email off the board when I have a few minuntes.
