Cost of Mobil 1 ATF 900 1995

I am getting ready to do the transmission fluid flush using the hose kit from IPD. I want to use Mobil 1 but could not find it at Wal-mart, which seems to have the best price on Mobil 1 engine oil. Is there another discounter that would sell it? If not, how much should I expect to pay at an Autozone? I probably need 8-10 quarts, and the price I saw at one store was $6 per quart.

    Is your car a 960? If so the IPD kit will not work, but you don't need it.

    How long has it been since the last flush? If it's been more than about 20-30k miles, I'd flush first with dino atf and run for 2-3k miles to clean out then flush again with the M1.

    Does it make a lot of sense to drive all over the area to save 50 cents on a quart of oil??

    Mobil 1 ATF at any price is a bargain compared to the cost of a new transmission!!!

      Mobil 1 ATF at any price is a bargain compared to the cost of a new transmission!!!

      The beauty of the RWD bricks (okay, not the 960): no it's not. A used tranny from the junker is about $80. Let's round it up to $100. About the cost of enough M1 ATF to flush the tranny. Hmmmm.

    try autozone, around $5.00 quart. I think it took around 3 gallons to
    get it to come out pink. It works great in power steering fluid also.

    I think Autozone was at $5 per quart. Try a local Mobil distributor and buy two cases.

      I suspect the price at the local Mobil distributor is probably higher than the price at Autozone.

        Dick, you're right: the distributor would only use his "retail" price for a non-wholesale account (me!) and wanted about $2 more per quart than Autozone, even for two cases. I pointed this out and he shrugged his shoulders.
