DAWG,
Your ride is super sweet... the pics are great! Take some more of the engine compartment with the sun behind the camera/photographer.
Do you have fucking air shocks on the front and back?
If she gets any higher you will need a special license to drive it.
One word: slam!
Peace, Jon

Haha thanks bro! It's the Bilsteins...I think they jack the car up 0.5 inches front and back!!! Don't worry, V15 cam swap and radius valve job next week, then B&G springs for the next project. I'll send some pix of the engine/header your way tonight.

All your replies seem to be from the guys so far, but I too think it is a really great looking ride. Very classy and I would even say sleek looking (not a usual adjective to describe a 240 brick!) I have always been a wagon type of person, but a sedan like that would have a very good chance of making me switch! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Janet,
Thanks for your kind comments! I agree with the sleek thing...usually not an adjective used to describe a boxy 240 but the spoiler and cowel-covers help out in the department!
Best,
-Adam

Man What A Ride!!! Clean looking, sporty, classic all in one. I love the spoiler and cowl vent covers. Adds a great look to the car just by installing them but the color match paint job blows me away (Wipe Drool Off Face). Love those E-Codes up front. Make me think I should go out and grab a pair and then pray for darkness so I can enjoy that light output. One question I have is would a pair of E-Code work on the a pre-86? Are there two different styles of E-Codes for the different years or are they somewhat the same? Best of luck with the cam and valve job as well as the upcoming M46 tranny swap. One thing I can say is that the M46 is by far the way to go, especially on that sweet looking and sporty ride. THe BW55-->M46 tranny sway was the best thing I have ever done to my 79 264GL. The best part about the tranny swap is that the 260's comes with a hydraulic clutch so I enjoy pressing that clutch pedal even more than usual. Take Care & Enjoy!!!
Sincerely,

Julio,
Hahaha thanks for the comments!! The spoiler was a really rare find and definitely adds a "sporty" look to the brick. I think the E-codes were the best investment as the light output and quality are incredible. I rarely need my brights now! I'd love to do a M46 tranny swap...perhaps someday when my auto starts to get shakey but that is a long time off I hope! If you're looking for E-codes a pre-86 (US spec) I believe you'll need the -81 E-codes found in Europe (1 large glass lens on each side versus the 4 sealed beam setup in the US till '85). I'm not 100% sure and I bet you could mod the 86-93 E-codes to fit. By the way...I love your flathood conversion! It looks very sleak and clean!!
Best,
-Adam

That is a hot car!
What impresses me? Your clean Corona (not Draco, but I'm guessing you had them in storage at the time) rims, OEM and matched spoiler, E-Code turn signal lenses, and nice power antenna!
Hearing that you've got Bilsteins in as well as seeing that turbo brace makes me super-jealous. My list for things to do is similar to what you've already done, and so seeing such a cool-looking car inspires me to get on the ball. I always enjoy looking at sweet Bricks like yours!

Thanks bud as I really appreciate it! Yeah those Corona's are such a b*tch to clean! The Draco's were in storage at the time as one tire got a flat. I'm stepping up to some Volvo 17s in a few months and plan on lowering the brick with some B&G springs or TME/IPD. Spoiler was a very rare find...but eBay works wonders! The glass E-codes were probably the best investment as the light output is insane!!! Your brick is coming along nicely man...keep up the good work! The handling is ridiculous with all the bracing and sways but the Bilstein HD's are firm...I might have to throw in some Boge Turbo Gas depending on the ride quality with 17s and sport springs. By next week I plan on having the Enem V15 cam installed and sending the head out for a radius valve job...should give a sweet increase in HP!!
Best,
-Adam

All the more impressive for being clean and understated; well done. The mods are all (IMHO) very sensible and worthwhile upgrades either to performance or appearance (or both!).
A thought: like most 240's it has a somewhat nose-high appearance (look at front wheelwell airgap compared to rear). Have you considered lowering springs?

Thanks! Yes B&G or possibly IPD springs are on the list. I have a set of 15" Draco's but one of the tires is blown but the "gap" is truly gross. With 17s in the future that wheel gap will look even worse!! This week entails ditching the M cam and installing an Enem V15...a never ending list!

very nice. how does one obtain the e-code turn signals? how much does it cost? also, I've heard you have to get the European headlights in order for the whole thing to work...???

eBay from time to time has complete kits available. Check out www.jpstyling.com as well. Yes, you need the full kit to work unless you want to get involved with mods. I got mine (complete kit including glass lenses, turn signals, and headlight surrounds) from a seller in the Netherlands brand new for $300 US. Shipping was an additional $60 and took a month to arrive but well worth the upgrade!!

hi there smooth looking ride. are you running a stock cam? also where did you find the oem spoiler? a nice touch. ;^}

M cam for one more week then Enem V15 cam with a radius valve job by the end of next week...finally! Should gain some solid HP with the cam and the 2.5" exhaust setup. Just now need an M46 tranny swap! I actually snagged the spoiler off of eBay two years ago (was brand new and included the original mounting kit) and I couldn't resist. Had it paint-matched. The owner had gotten it from Sweden.
Best,
-Adam
