White smoke broken down 700

My 740 turbo has died. It was leaking oil at 180k and it broke down a day before it was to be repaired. I had it towed to my house. White smoke poured out of the exhaust and the car stopped working. I added more oil, about 5 quarts and that only lasted about a mile. I want to try to have it fixed. Do you think that it is a head gasket or the pistons? What will this run me? Should I just sell the car for parts?

If you ran it out of oil, you are toast. Check compression first along with the bearings and camshaft. If bad, look for a good used engine (about $250) and install that.
