1990 740GL IAC valve 700

Hello,
I ordered on the net a replacement IAC valve (idle air control). This part
seems to have a bunch of names! The online parts place sent me a Bosch 516 idle control valve. This looks similar to mine, but is much fatter and will never fit the rubber mount presently on the car. The valve I'm replacing reads: 1389557 on the label. I have read Fitz's write up on cleaning the IAC
http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=778266&show_all=1
and his remarks on the various valves,
http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=777199
but none of his numbers seem to match what is on my old valve. I've come to the conclusion I must have the wrong valve, but what do I need?
Thanks. sirbog

Sorry about the lack of Regina system information in my posts. If you are unable to clean and restore your existing Regina IAC Valve to good working order, feel free to email me (click on my name for contact info). I've got a spare used Regina IAC valve here that came from an accident vehicle (it should be functional).

God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.

Dear Sirbog,
The IAC valve number you have matches the Regina/Rex type of car you must have. I bought mine (#1389557) at the Volvo dealership for $200.00. If you type in "Volvo Regina" on the search area of eBay, they are presently selling several parts for the Regina/Rex, one of which is a used IAC valve. I don't know enough about the one you bought online to know if it would work on your car though.

Sirbog - the IAC part number you gave is for a OEM Volvo Regina ignition system IAC. NOT Bosch. You should have a Regina coil, etc. Do you? If so, that Bosch IAC will not fit and is not suitable for your system. Unfortunately, if you need a new IAC, it will run you about $220. Try a damn good cleaning first.
