Another one bites the dust 200

Yes sad news. My fool neighbors decided they we're gonna re-roof this weekend. Well that's fine until the driver of the truck doesn't know how to turn his head and procedes to crush the driver's side of our old 245!
So she's dead now. Gone to a home that wanted her...for some reason..
So raise your glasses, whatever you have in front of you: To the Volvo!

I guess I got lucky in that I hadn't parked my car on the street that day.

That bites! 200

I am so glad that the insurance agent who worked on the damage to my '86 was "generous" ....#$@%&^%$#!!!!

I was offered $900 for a "totaled" 240, but after some calm conversation, I found that they typically work up to a figure higher that the "totaled" value before they declare it "totaled". In my case it was $1,199.00, The agent spent some time fudging the assessment to get it as close to the number without going over the trigger amount. The '86 is on the road w/out repairs, I took the $ and bought an '87 245.

It sucks, we know the "value" of these vehicles is more than the auction value. I mean No car payments, known issues that we have chosen to live with vs new issues on a different car that we must deal with (read pay $).

I share your angst! Did you get to keep it as a parts vehicle?

Doors and fenders can be replaced. So maybe though it looks bad, it might be a cheap fix if there's a cheap pick and pull yard around.
