That bites! 200

I am so glad that the insurance agent who worked on the damage to my '86 was "generous" ....#$@%&^%$#!!!!

I was offered $900 for a "totaled" 240, but after some calm conversation, I found that they typically work up to a figure higher that the "totaled" value before they declare it "totaled". In my case it was $1,199.00, The agent spent some time fudging the assessment to get it as close to the number without going over the trigger amount. The '86 is on the road w/out repairs, I took the $ and bought an '87 245.

It sucks, we know the "value" of these vehicles is more than the auction value. I mean No car payments, known issues that we have chosen to live with vs new issues on a different car that we must deal with (read pay $).

I share your angst! Did you get to keep it as a parts vehicle?
