Going to delve into AW71L this weekend 900 1991

Well, I've got all the bits (I hope), so this weekend I'm planning to take out the valve body in my 940's AW71L and replace the check balls and hopefully solve this hard 1-2 shifting that's been driving me mad for years.
Any last minute words of advice or wisdom from those who have BTDT?

Wish me luck - I might need it.

Brad

If you are able, some photos and a writeup for the FAQ would be greatly welcomed by all. BTW: did you use synthetic oil in this tranny?

      Hi

Is Synthetic the way to go? I'm about to change mine in a few weeks - it's only done 1.426982e-008 light years! (135,000 kilometres)

      regards

Absolutely. I followed the directions in the FAQs and used Amsoil synthetic ATF. It costs more but Amsoil synthetic is good for 3 times the normal recommendation - 60,000 miles.

Please --- keep me posted on the process and results. I'm facing exactly the same job on my '91 740.

I'll be taking plenty of photos and I will do a writeup for the FAQ. Just praying I don't stuff anything up. I had problems with the brakes last week which left me without the car for 4 days. I hope this job doesn't go the same way. Think positively. Think positively. Think positively.

      Regards

      Brad
