ever since i bought my car...my tps was never on idle mode!!!! 200

ever since i bought the 82 kjet....the TPS switch was a bit loose on it's screw and it had been swinging around. even at idle....it was reading an idle....

I finally figured out what was wrong with it..and tightened it up...and adjusted it :)


My question is...does this mean it never was going into idle mode beforehand?

any technical info anyone can give me on this?

Yes it was never going into idle mode. When you open and close the idle you should hear the switch click. It would have been running rich at idle. Its a common problem on Toyota Trucks which leads to a failed smog test.
