I have a 1984 240 GLE Sedan. Lately, my wipers and horn have been working on and off. I checked the fuse, it was fine. To be safe, I replaced it with another one. It's quite weird; the wipers and horn will work for a few days, then stop working for a few days, and repeat. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, or anything that sets it off.

Is it possible that something is shorting? Both work fine at the times they're working, but neither will work when they're not. This makes me think it's an electrical problem somewhere. Any ideas?

Check all of your ground connections, and the fuse terminals for corrosion/oxidation. It does not take much to stop that flow of electrons. Good luck!

i had the same problem.... it was in the starting contacts located in the rear of the iginition.... there are little contcacts that flow with electricity only when the iginition is in a certain position. In my case all i have to do i play with the key a little while the ignition is in the ON position. but if you dont like having to do this you may need to replace the contacts.
