Control arm bushings in the driveway? 200

The controls arms can be removed in the driveway but if a hoist is available, why not make your life easier. A hydralic press is needed to push out the old bushings (not an arbor press). The trickest part of pressing out the old bushings is supporting the control arm so the bushing is square to the press ram. A socket, with a diameter large enough to bear on the steel bushing sleeve (not the rubber) and yet small enough to go through the hole, can be used between the ram and bushing. Be sure the new bushings are oriented correctly when pressing them in (slots are horizontal). With the control arms out, it's a great time to remove and inspect the ball joints. jp
