water pump changed complete 200 1992

thankfully the parts store opened another water pump and gave me the o-ring. I put the oring on the heater pipe first and the rest was smooth sailing. Now the temp gauge stays in the lower one third section of the temperature gauge.

by the way, the old water pump spins very easily compared to the very tight turning of the new pump. Is this a sign of pending failure? It never leaked from the weep hole.

"the old water pump spins very easily compared to the very tight turning of the new pump."

This is a sign of a new bearing, which is a good thing as long as you don't feel anything but even resistance. I don't know how to tell you over the web what a bad bearing feels like, other than their is uneven resistance and you can feel the spots where the bearing surface is degraded, especially on ball bearings.
