What is the latest year 240 that turbo virgos wheels will fit? (that's what I'm buyin) 200

I like the turbo wheels. Period. I also like 240s. And I'm gonna have them...one way or the other. Now that that decision is made, all I have left to do is find the latest year that these fine wheels will fit and buy that car. Sounds simple, huh? I'm going to replace my Ford Aerostar in the next few months...and it will be a 240...I'd like to have a wagon. So..I think that the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) will interfere with the turbo wheels..so, unless I'm missing something important, ..which 240 year model came out with the ABS?

Hey, guess what? Virgo rims (turbo rims) fit EVERY 240 EVER MADE!

If you get a post '86 car, you simply need to remove the wheel locating pins in the rotors and replace with a M6 bolt.

I heard about the little pins (10 mm)...and replacing with bolt...but I was fairly certain I read something about the ABS caliper gettin in the way of the turbo wheel.

The 240 Turbo "Virgo" wheel doesn't fit some 740 and all 940 models with ABS brakes. The 240s all fit this wheel fine, up through the end of production when all 92-93 models had ABS.

I know of at least two 1993's with Virgos on them.

BTW if you or anyone is looking for a really nice "last" 240, there is presently a 1993 244 for sale in Montville CT. It's charcoal grey, grey cloth, 4-door, 178K miles, and ITS A 5-SPEED! The body is about perfect, never hit, and has perfect lights, trim, etc. Everything works. It's at a shop where the owner is a Volvo fanatic. The guy wants $4750 for it, and I'd say it's worth every penny. Has ABS, power mirrors w/ def, power antenna, and cruise control. No sunroof. I'd love to own it but it's out of my price range.

Anyone interested contact me, myvwsgotme (at) snet.net and I'll put you in touch with him.

You won't have trouble with Virgos on ANY year 240. I've got them on my '93 'Classic' (one of the last 1600 made) and they work just fine after replacing the locator pins with a bolt.

Can you just cut off the locator pins flush? (NMI) 200

You don't have to take the locating pins off for Virgos. They have holes for the pins. It's the older Corona rims that you have to take the pins off for.
