timing discrepancy 200 1975

im confused.
haynes manual tells me to time my 1975 b20F at 10 btdc. official volvo shop manual says 10 degrees in tune up section and 5 degrees in the ignition chapter. nice proofreading job there.
so, it seems to run better at 10 than 5 but im kinda concerned i could be doing some damage long term.

eexcellent..thanx for info..
me and my special misfit of a brick are going to the 140 forum where timing belts cant break, horsepower is down and BW35s are tolerated...

actually did they use 3 speed autos after 75?? the thing is a riot- doing 75mph it sounds like you are in a freaking cessna.
its all part of the experience :)

B20's of pretty much any sort run well with additional advance, some people run up to 25-30 advance in carbed cars. You won't do damage below 20 advance, no matter how lean you tune it.

You'd probably get better engine advice in the 140 forum, since '75 was the only year of the B20 in a 240.

I have a '74 with k-jet. I run mine at 15d advance. About the only difference I know of may be the different fuel filters and the electronic ignition in the '75.
