Still leaking after cam oil seal replacement 200

I have just replaced the oil seal on a B230f this lessened the oil leak but did not cure it completly. I'm still getting oil leaking on to the top of the water pump next to the hose. It does'nt appear to be the seal that is still leaking the area above is dry. Could it be the head gasket or are there any other possibilities?

Yeah like the other guy said. I had a 80 245 that had a front cam seal keep leaking on it I put 3 in before I actually pulled the cam and cleaned the groove in the cam cap and on the head. It stopped after that.

Oil can still be appearing as if from nowhere because it runs down the back of the plastic plate as well as the front.
The oil seal may have worn a groove in the cam, so a new one still leaks. When you remove the front cam bearing bracket you can see that there is a choice of how far in to position the seal. Put it in a place so that it doesn't coincide with the grove. Use a bit of sealer or Locktite to hold firmly in place - I have had a seal run loose in the bracket and twist itself sideways.
I've always found the timing cover gasket a devil to make oil-tight. It always seems to want to leak at the point where the cardboard gasket does a sharp bend up over the bearing housing. Use plenty of sealant, and torque down correctly.

It is very important to keep the front of the engine clear of oil around the water pump. I had slight but chronic oil seapage once and over time it softened the rubber O-ring between the pump and the head. It blew out suddenly.

If the cam seal seat was scored when an old seal was removed you will be more likely to leak oil with even a slight crankcase pressure.

If your flame trap or oil separator are clogged, it will force oil out of brand new seals. Make sure the entire PCV system is clear and clean.

Did you check flame trap for blockage?
