Intermittent ACC on my 760T???? 700 1987

Most times my Automatic Climate Control will function correctly and normally but intermittently the blower fan will only function in the "defrost" position.

I have a replacement control panel (the thing that you manually switch to whatever function you need to turn on heat/AC) but I'm wondering if it might be something else in the ACC system causing this.

Have any of you 760 owners ever had this problem? and figured out what it was?

thanks,

jack

Possible engine coolant temp sensor problem. There is a temp sensor tee'd in to one of the heater hoses. It should have a single white wire to the sensor and a ground wire attached to the metal tee piece. If this sensor or wiring is faulty, it could cause problems. Note that with that system, if coolant temp is below a specified point, (I forget the spec) and a heating function is selected, the fan will not run till the coolant starts warming up, except on defrost.

thanks, I'll check that out

if the temp sensor is malfunctioning it might take longer before it recognizes coolant up to temp.

another way to check would be to turn on the AC and see if the blower works???
