Hi Everyone,

While junking today for a headlight relay for my 245 I came across a 93 Limited Edition 245 with the nice, BBS-like mesh wheels. I know they are 15x6, my question is will they fit an early 740 series? Correct offset? Will they fit my 84 245? I am going back to pull the leather seats in the next week or two...

I have these on my car. They are 14x6 if they are the ones that came stock on that 240. The wheel you are thinking about that is 15" is the version that came on the 780 Bertone's.

When I switched to my winter tires, these rims go on my 80 244, and have no clearance issues.

If this is a '93 it was probably a 240 Classic, unless somebody put on different wheels. If you go back can you check if it has the numbered plaque to the right of the instrument cluster. I'd like to know the number so I can mark it as "junked" in the 240 Classic Register. Was this car in a wreck?

Because of differences in brakes, I'm not postive that they would fit your 700 series car. They would fit your 240 for sure though. Good luck and happy bricking.

I put 740 wheels on my 245 and it worked...

the tire size changed and so did my odometer functioning (as will happen when you change to a non-standard tire size).

did you notice if that 245 in the yard had it's rear "flush type" cargo windows still in it?

I've been looking for one of those in Columbus for a long time with no success, it may be worth a trip to Dayton for me if they are there????

They're actually 14x6" wheels... So no real improvement tirewise, except for maybe a half an inch in width compared to the stock steel wheels, then of course the MUCH lighter weight, and the MUCH better looks... But yes, they'll fit your earlier 240, and most likely your 740 as well. The offset on your 740 would be +25 mm while it's +20 mm on the 240s. This minor difference shouldn't be a problem. I would definitely pick them up no matter what though, I'll take them if you aren't interested! (well, I would if I could, but I don't have any money...)
