new battery installation/swap S90-V90 1997

1997 960 sedan, 104k, and fairly new to me- could use a new battery before it gets really cold here in New England. Lo and behold, my wife's 1995 850T wagon lies in our driveway-wrecked, with a nearly new donor Volvo OEM battery. The poor thing, HONU..she got rear-ended and in turn rear-ended another car. Oh do we thank GOD that she was in a that brick, else she'd be in the hospital...

OK, so swapping out the battery(s)...
Her battery will fit, size wise, and the terminal posts locales are same,
so no problemo, heh?!?
Will there be an indicator light on (to reset) in my
sedan after the swap?
How can I avoid that?
Will my radio need re-programming, as I do have a "Volvo Audio" card with
a 4 digit code, stating do not lose this!?!?

Any other concerns regarding the swap???

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated- Mike!

The 960 takes a group 48 size battery. If the donor is that then you are good to go. I wouldnt sweat having to pull the battery. You say you have the code for the radio and the reset on the computer will do no harm either.

Hello, no problem with swapping out the batteries, hardest part will be the hold down bolt or what ever it's called. Take the negitive post loose first, then the positive, there shouldn't be any check lights to come on because when you take the power supply away this resets your codes. You will need to reset your sterio code when you turn it back on , just feed in the code and then hit the auto switch and a second or two it will come on.
Enjoy
