Well lets say the strut rod keepsthe main control arm from moving back and forth. The control arm is also connected to the stearing mechanism and creates a sort of paralelagram. If there is play in the strut rod and the control arm is allowed tomove back and fourth it will take the stearing arms along with it. The paralelogram of the control arm and steering link will bend. The wheel itself will either stay straight ahead or turn a little bit depending on the direction of the force. Now add some stearing input in to the mix and maybe some suspension conpression and the whole things gets out of control. The ganeral idea is the whole suspension on one side is connected together so a change in one part of the mechanism will change something somewhere else whther its camber, caster or toe. Well thats my theory anyway. Sort of makes sense based on how this suspension and stearing mechanism is aranged.
