I'm looking for a manual '91, '92 , '93 240 DL or GL (I'm not sure what the difference is) i want a sunroof. I can find plenty automatics- but no manuals. anyone know anything about where to find one, email me back.'

Curiously, it's the opposite way round in the UK. If you are really set on having a particular box, remember they are all interchangeable if you swap over all the right bits from a donor car.
I bought a really nice 93 5-speed (M47)some years ago, but because I have always loved the overdrive option on earlier models (M46), I swapped boxes. I sold the old box to someone who had only a 4-speed (M41).

If I buy an automatic and want to switch to a manual- what would I be getting myself into? I just replaced the blower fan/ heater valve in my old brick- thats the hardest thing I've done. how would this compare?

I think you have posted this question separately, and got some useful replies. I have never done this particular job. I believe it is straightforward once you appreciate that the auto box works and connects in a different way.
You will need a flywheel, clutch of course, cable or hydraulic clutch connection, manual pedal set, clutch master cylinder if using hydraulic, and possibly other odd bits. You either need to be buying the lot from someone very reliable who you can trust to supply the complete kit, or better and cheaper, buy or have access to a complete donor car. That way you can see how everything goes, work out how it fits as you dismantle it, and go back easily for any missing bits - clips, drive shaft(?), speedo cable (?) etc.

By 1993 I believe that only around 10% were 5spds. In 1990 the ratio was much better. One thing to consider is that the moonroof can eventually start to leak. I've never liked the loss in headroom with them. IMHO finding a non smoking black cloth interior would be high on the list of nice to have.

There were always a disproportionate amount of manual 240's sold in North America, one sales rep told me it was almost 10 to 1 in favour of the auto boxes.

To get a sunroof, you'll need to get a sedan, and a GL model is more likely to have one.

All the year models mentioned were certainly produced with both manual 5-sp and automatic 4-sp. Others will know whether both options were imported to the US or not.
