Today I finished putting on a pair of Hella Rally 4000s with City lights on my '84 245. Now I just need the upgraded quads :-) I highly recomend the city light feature, which is a little 5 watt light in each of the lights connected to the parking lights. I wasnt sure about the city light feature when I ordered them, but it looks *really* good and its the same price as normal ones! They are a very tight fit with the grill in fact the grill pegs currently arnt in their holes, but behind the sheetmetal on the bottem; its securely in place though. They needed shims to adjust them to point high enough (bumper tilts down slightly), but they are really nice lights, cant wait to try them driving! I'm just not sure if 8 lights is enough for a 245... j/k :-)

I think you will appreciate the 4000's with the eurobeams. I just hope you used relays and good wiring for all.

Some states (like my old home, CT) and possibly NJ limit the total number of headlights + auxiliary lights... in CT it was 6 total, so if you have an OEM quad headlight setup, you're limited to one pair of auxiliary lamps. Of course I never heard of anyone being stopped for that kind of infraction...

I used Hella's rally 4000 wiring/relay with the volvo driving light switch for it, seems to work well. I know better than to run all the juice through the switch ;-)

I've never heard of anything like that in CA... we dont even have inspections so Im assuming they are more laid back.

It's funny, when I'm running them and then need to switch to low beams it feels almost like I have no lights on!
