Hello all,
I posted on the forum A Question. I saw someone had replied further up on the forum saying a answer, claiming to be me james. So I had to Reply to say that it wasn't me as I never wrote it. I re posted on my proper message using a password and username to confirm if my timing belt tensioner needed replacing using my new username Kyle 123 and see that this imposter has replied claiming to be me James. Please have a read of both posts.
Please ignore anyone claiming to be James on my posts as from now on I will be known as the username Kyle123 and signed as James.
Is there anyway to delete posts from imposters? If this person wants to say my tensioner needs replacing why not be sensible and mature enough to say that by posting and signing on using his own name or username and not mine. If his name is James fair enough as I have a new username but dont post it as if it is me writing it. Thanks Kyle 123 (James)

I don't know why anyone would bother posting WITHOUT getting a proper username on here. It's free and simple to register.

I've always thought one weakness of the Brickboard was this "claiming to be" thing. I don't run the place nor do I have any say in how it's run. But if I did, I would eliminate that. It's not that there's any fraud going on, but it's more to simply keep annoying people out, and avoid situations like that one.

I've made over 2000 posts on the Board. As far as I know, no one's ever claimed to be me, and I haven't had any problems because of a person's name or the process of posting here.

There very likely are other folks named James on here, and I can't see how anyone could get upset that another person "claimed to be" them, when they're "claiming to be" in the first place. No security, no unique username. Most likely an honest mistake and obviously a common enough name.

I think you are overreacting. I'd say it's like driving away from a parking spot, coming back an hour later and being mad that someone else is parked there. You have no grounds to assume that a public resource would be reserved for you exclusively.

Hello Aye Roll,
I have no problem in people claiming to be me, but actually writing their post as if it is me, is not on as I said in my post. Did you actually read the post that said A Answer claiming to be me? As you can see I have got a username that I had years ago and am now using. I'm not a selfish person if someone wants to use my claiming to be name, message me and I will change it as I have done. Regards KYLE123 (James)
