I don't know why anyone would bother posting WITHOUT getting a proper username on here. It's free and simple to register.
I've always thought one weakness of the Brickboard was this "claiming to be" thing. I don't run the place nor do I have any say in how it's run. But if I did, I would eliminate that. It's not that there's any fraud going on, but it's more to simply keep annoying people out, and avoid situations like that one.
I've made over 2000 posts on the Board. As far as I know, no one's ever claimed to be me, and I haven't had any problems because of a person's name or the process of posting here.
There very likely are other folks named James on here, and I can't see how anyone could get upset that another person "claimed to be" them, when they're "claiming to be" in the first place. No security, no unique username. Most likely an honest mistake and obviously a common enough name.
I think you are overreacting. I'd say it's like driving away from a parking spot, coming back an hour later and being mad that someone else is parked there. You have no grounds to assume that a public resource would be reserved for you exclusively.
