244 dl door problems--please help!

Hello fellow volvo lovers,

i have a 1977 244dl and am having problems with the front passenger door. i was having problems getting opening it from the outside and was told to readjust the latch on the inside of the car. i did this and now i have no problem opening it from the outside, BUT, now the door won't stay all the way closed. if you push on it, it will crack open an inch or two. it will lock however. does anyone know how to resolve this issue. i'm worried that the passenger door will fly open while driving down the road.

    You adjusted the latch too far, back up 1/16 inch. Your door is not closing all of the way because the latch on the B pillar is too close to the inside or the latch mech on the door is too far out. The pressure of the rubber seal will help push the door open.
