mildew smell on leather seats

I found some good leather pieces for my 83 340 turbo at the wreaking yard the other day. I was concearned about mold, and was told I could bring back anything that I did not feel was acceptable. The front seat is fine. The rear seat has a sent of mold. The leather is in very nice shape, but it has the smell of mold which I do not want. Is there anything I can do, or should I just forget it and take the seat back? Thanks for any information and happy bricking.

While bleach and water will kill surface mold, I suspect that it has penetrated into the foam seat cushion. The only way to deal with it will be to remove the seat skins and soak the cushion in bleach solution.

A very mild solution of bleach & water will kill the mold & mildew.

Follow immediately with leather treatment.
