Power window installation 200

I'm having trouble installing power window mechanisms in my wife's '79 244. I have the manual units out of the rear doors and haven't been able to get the power ones in. If I line up the bolt holes I can't get the pins on the arms into the hole and slides. If I insert the pins into the hole and slides, I can't rotate the motor to match the bolt holes. The donor was an early 80s. The seller, his son and I removed the power unit from the donor, but the seller removed the mechanisms from the doors and we removed the harnesses and I didn't see if there was something particular that needs to be dome. Everything was bagged and labelled, so I know I have the right stuff. Does anyone have some suggestions or hints?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a real PITA. I wish you had a set of doors with the power windows in them so that all you had to do was bolt on the new doors and hook up the wires instead of trying to put the power stuff into an assembled door.
I just replaced four doors on a 240 because none of the door handels worked and they were rusting out with four good doors from a boneyard and it was easy.
I have the old doors I took out laying in the back of my garage, so if you realy get stuck and can't figure it out I could probably take a digital picture of what ever it is you can't figure out and email it to you.
Let me know

I had the same problem when I did mine this past summer in my 88. I found that the rear glass tended to work it way out of the track as I worked with all of the compents in the door. Once I found this out I did okay. I really just had to be patient with it. Good luck and happy bricking.
