The FAQ mention that you can leave the steering wheel on and use an angled screwdriver to install the new turnsignal/on-off switch. anyone done this? is it less a PITA than taking the wheel off?

I took the upper and lower steering column trim off, and there is about 2 cm clearance so screws are easy to get out/in. Why would you anyone want to take the Airbag/wires/steering wheel off? hmmm?
