'custom 2 door in CA' - consensus is I shouldn't buy... but I'm still looking for a car... 200

I should have mentioned I live in Alaska- so whatever I buy will have to be shipped or driven up here. From what I've seen (and believe me, I've looked ) I owned the last great volvo in Anchorage (the biggest city)- but after this winter there's so much body damage on it I'm looking for something new. The #1 priority is a great looking body, and a mechanically sound car (not like thats a surprise). Any type of body work/painting is obscenely expensive here in AK, so I want to start out ahead.- something fun and sporty, a turbo, 2 door 242 or something would be nice, but a good 4 door would be fine too. ( sunroof and airbag would be nice), the car will be used for around town mainly- not for racing. anyone know of a car like this on the west coast?
thanks
Luke

Check www.autotrader.com, www.pennysaverusa.com, or www.cars.com for Volvo's in CA. I live in Los Angeles County and I see tons of good-great body 200 Series cars going for under $3-4000 or less. I just saw a 83 245 with 160K for only $1000. It was green and in good condition with no rust anywhere. I let my cousin know about that car since he is looking for wheels and I hope he will get into Volvo's like me. Since you live in Alaska I would think a 86+ 200 Series or the 700/900 Series line would better suit you being that the galvanized bodies do not rust as easily as the pre-86 steel bodies. Good Luck finding what you need. Take Care!

Sincerely,

Join VCOA and look in their magazine classifieds. Check the classifieds here and on turbo bricks. And finally, Ebay. Next time this year I will have a nice 164E, 1975. Perfect for AK, it still has no AC.
