Lost acceleration, momentarily no power spot on acceleration and at speed. 200

I have a 90 240 wagon with about 195,000.

Recently the "Check Engine" light came on, and along with that
I've lost considerable power upon take off.
From a stop, will not move, then slowly will accelerate. This also happens when I go to pass or "kick down" at highway speed.
Seems to drive fine when up to speed, only a problem while starting up or fast acceleration.

The idle is fine at start up and intermittently high after driving for long periods

- I first checked for fault codes, none ( 1-1-1)
- recently cleaned throttle body and IAC

Any tips on where to start?
A friend suggested the O2 sensor, how to check?

Thanks for any advice

Are you checking for both sets of codes???

Socket 2 for FI
Socket 6 for Ignition

IMO, O2 sensor isn't likely.

I'll give that try.
Hopefully something will show up.

Thanks

I agree with Klaus there must be a fault code. Try resetting the code then run the car and wait for ce light, then recheck for fault code. This should steer you toward the problem. Let us know what you find.

If the check engine light came on, there MUST be a fault code. It sounds like your CAT is starting to get plugged up.
