hard first shift with the auto....could this be a problem? 200 1986

hello again, another tranny question for you all, sounds great right?!?! ok, well this is the same car that i still haven't figured out the O/D problem with...it's sat for a year in a barn not well cared for before i got it.. the question is regarding an automatic tranny....i've driven it a bit without the o/d now and it seems to shift kinda hard into 1st.. the shift is not late by any means and it isnt late into 3rd either (just no overdrive yet). could this be a problem? i flushed the fluid a couple days ago and there was no improvement to that.. will this tranny last another 100K with a hard 1st shift?

All the Volvos I've had with the AW70 transmission have shifted pretty SOLID into every gear, not just first. The shift is a lot firmer than those mushy American cars.
