Hi, I'm wanting to remove the entire sunroof so i can replace the cloth covering and replace the seal. any links or manuals offered would be very welcome as well.

Hello John sargent! Sorry I am very late.... but if you see this could you send me the information on how to remove the sunroof on my Volvo 740 1984 GLE. The sunroof is not aligning the roof and is about a centimeter down. This car has manual sunroof and the crank for the sunroof is missing..

The sunroof mechanism comes out the top, and headliner removal is not necessary, contrary to another post. I've probably done about 6 sunroof mechanism removal and replacements.

I have my sunroof all apart; the sunroof rear is about 3 cm below the roofline and whistles in the wind like crazy and leaks when it rains. i can find no adjustment to make the rear of the roof seat flush. I have no problem taking it and putting it back in. But, how do i adjust it?

here is where i need help! My sunroof rear sits about 3 cm below the roof line and whistles like crazy and look terrible. I took it ou today looking for an adjustment to make the sunroof mount flush but i cant find one on the roof. I am thinking of shimming the rear of the rails, or just getting some Bondo and seal up the roof once and all and sand it flush with the roof.

The Haynes manual is pretty good. A few pointers- 1-The headliner must be removed 2-Put the roof in the vent position ans disconnect the clips in the rear of the roof. You should use a cotter key removal tool or something with a strong hook on the end. I dropped the back end of the sunroof assembly down and slide it all backward 3-when you are installing the panels, cover the with a heavy kraft paper, because the new fabric will pick up any crap that is in the sunroof assembly
