Greetings,
Well, long story short, I've pulled my B230F engine out for a "On-my-own-terms-and-schedule-rebuild". Wasn't THAT big of a deal to pull the engine. As for the other reasons to pull the engine...another post!
But would it have killed them to install ONE connector for the main engine harness at the firewall? I mean really! One little disconnect for the majority of the wiring...would have been great to leave the wiring (and accessories) on the engine during the pull. But that's for still another post! ;-)
Anyways, here is my question: I've pulled my oil pan to find this large, black, apx. 3/4" round hose sticking down about 8" from the engine. Research shows that this is the "Crank Case Ventilation Hose" (IPD Part Number CZ1306196, Volvo number...ummm...I don't feel like grabbing my parts book right now). The Bentley, Haynes, nor the Chiltons manual in my posesstion mention or show this hose during oil pan removal. My point is: they don't show it...why do I see it? How long is it supposed to be? It appears to go all the way up to the Oil Breather Box. It's also pretty stiff.
Any thoughts? Am I being to nervous about this?
Thanks,
-Chris
