hi all. has anyone tried using the 556 to replace the 561? or 951?
i found a white label 556 in a 92 240 and was just wondering.
i see on the big list i have saved from the board it looks like the model for egr. thanks

I replaced a failed 556 with a 933 ECU from a 740. So if the 566 is compatible so is the 933. Most LH 2.4 ECUs can are interchangable. You only run into problems with Turbos, and a non EGR ecu in a EGR equipped car.

I always heard a 933 is to a 556 what a 951 is to a 561, egr, non-egr respectively.

I ran one in my 92 240 for awhile, and it ran fine. You just don't use the EGR circuit in the ECU if the car does not have an EGR. Dan
