ipd front sway bar question 140-160

Hey guys.. I've never had an IPD sway bar before and the 68 145 that I just bought came with one (yippie) except that it was only mounted to the lower wishbones and not connected to the frame at all. It had the bushings for the frame connections on there and was hanging on the steering assembly.. I took the hardware (blanking on what I should call it right now) off a stock sway bar to connect it to the frame.. Does anyone know if they are the same? Or should I get proper IPD units?

Thanks,

Andrew

I think the stock swaybar mounts will be too small for the larger ipd bushings.
It was the case with my 240 bars.

I think you are right.. they were a real tight squeeze to get on, but I figured it was better than no mount at all.. Hopefully I can get the proper mounts.

Thanks,

Andrew

i've found that ipd is real good to sell you small parts.

I bought a used set of ipd bars for my 142 that was missing some bits, and they sold me just the missing bits.

You can get sway bar mounts at most parts stores. Pep Boys, etc. Look under the section where they have polyurethane bushings. Just take the bar diameter with you.
