Jersey shore junkyards? 200

So I have left Los Angeles, the land of some great junkyards and I am now in Brick, NJ. So where are the great junkyards around here? Thanks for the info......

My idea of a great junkyard is one in which you can wander in with a box of tools, take what you need and drag it all to the counter for a final tally. That's how it is in much of the country. I don't think it works that way in Jersey anymore. The fantastic pic-a-part deal is one I've never experienced.

That said, there are a couple of places to try for used parts. Tilton Auto Recycling is in Lakewood, not so far from Brick, (732)363-1217.

One I've heard of as having decent inventory is Cosmo's. Their website:

The yards in Monmouth County seem to cluster around Texas Rd. in Morganville, as was already mentioned. There's a place in Wall that sounds pretty intriguing, but I haven't investigated yet.
You'd think a scrounge like me would know this stuff...

Place in Wall you are referring to(I think)went out of business. Town closed them down a few months ago so as instead of a car junk yard there will be yet another strip mall. Just what we need - another strip mall. It was on Route 71 about a half mile or so off Route 35.

Welcome to the jersey shore. I am in Ocean Grove. Next to Asbury Park. North of where you are. Used to be a good yard in Wall which always had a few Volvos but they got closed down a few months ago. So now I go up north to Morganville which is about 40 minutes north of me. It would be about an hour North of you. There is a road there by name of Texas Road where there are about 6X yards. I do not know yards in your county(Ocean County). Look in phone book. Possibly is one in Lakewood. By the way I use if I can't do it myself and highly reccomend J&L Volvo repair In Red Bank.

Lummer57, thanks for the heads up about J&L Volvo repair. Have you ever dealt with Pro VoVo in Freehold? I hear good things.

Hi. I have never used Pro VoVo in freehold but I too have heard good things about them. I mostly do my own work except when its work I can't do myself such as that requiring a lift, etc. Last year when I had to have my clutch done I did attempt to use Pro VoVo but they couldn't get to the job until almost 2X weeks. Also they quoted me a much higher price then J&L. J&L(Jimmy)usually gets to jobs next day or so and I have always found his prices to be fair & reasonable. Hope this helps somewhat.
