Rear shock identification 900 1995

Need a little help... have a 95 960 wagon and want to replace the rear shocks. I searched for the parts on the web and the instructions said that in the 3rd line of the product id plate, the 4th digit should be a U V or Z for those with IRS w/Nivomat and those with IRS w/out Nivomat should have a "X". Well, of course, mine has a "Y".

What do I need for this car with a "Y"? Nivomat or regular?

Easiest way is to look.

The Nivomats look like they are upside down. The expansion bellows protective cover on the shaft is at the bottom.

The normal shocks look like normal shocks.

With the introduction of the Multi-link II design with its composite transverse spring the Nivomat self leveling system became an option. Most of the later cars DO NOT have them.
