Diagnosed a rough idle, poor running problem to be the AMM - thanks to the power of the FAQs! Anyway I replaced with identical part number one (ending in 216) from the pick and pull and it fixed the problem but now the idle surges up and down after startup. As soon as I go into drive it's perfect and runs great and the idle in drive is fine. But as soon as I go back into park it will hunt up and down between 1000 and 2000 rpm and doesn't stop. Maybe I didn't get a good AMM? Any other opinions would be welcome. I did go down the list of drivability solutions in the FAQ before I got to the AMM and so it's in perfect tune (IAC, throttle body, fuel filter, pumps, fuses, - the ususal suspects). BTW, this was a case of the old airbox thermostat sticking and frying the AMM which I have now modified to take out the hot air from the exhaust manifold altogether.
