radiator woes- Nissens 700 1992

The radiator in my 92 745T developed a split in the plastic tank below the top hose inlet. This is a Nissens radiator that I put in 3 years and 1 week ago. It cost $300 then and is about the same now. I would think a radiator would last more than 3 years. $100/year is a bit steep to budget for radiatiors.

I can't seem to find a replacement part except for the $$$ Nissens unit. Is there a better solution other than this plastic junk? Anyone have any suggestions as to where to look for something better?
