Help!! I have a 1979 242 GT which has developed an annoying problem. When I get up to around 2000 - 2500 rpm, the oil light goes on and the car sputters and jerks violently. This happens in every gear and especially when I'm low on fuel. Once I get beyond 2500 rpm, it drives fine and the oil light goes off. I replaced the fuel filter and the problem went away for a couple of days, but has returned. The problem doesn't seem to happen as long as the gas tank is above half full. Once it drops below half, it gets worse the lower the gas level gets.
