Trunk Lock Malfunction 700 1989

Help, Volvo Gurus:

Out of the blue, my trunk lock will not unlock. I had it open several times today with no trouble, but now the key will not turn. I used graphite on both the lock adn the key, thinking it might need lubrication. No luck. The key works in the door locks just fine. The car is a 760 GLE '89 model.

Thanks everyone. I'd really like to avoid a locksmith and the huge fee.
