940 Exhaust to transmission clamp 900 1992

On my 940 Turbo there is a bracket near the rear of the transmission that faces the exhaust pipe, but it is not connected to the pipe. At idle there is a fair amount of vibration in the exhaust system. Should the pipe connect to this bracket, and what type of connection should be made at the pipe?
