Lean pop? Maybe? (and other rambling) 140-160

I'm not sure if it is or not because it only happens randomly and not very often, but maybe it is... Just when driving around, sometimes the carbs will backfire when I'm on the throttle accelerating. Just one pop, one stutter. Not very often either, but, is it because I have the carbs too lean? I think I'll richen them up an 8th of a turn. Yeah?

I also need to find a source for REAL vacuum line caps. My HIF6's have a ton of vacuum line fittings that I'm not using. Some of them have a line on them that is plugged with a screw, one of them has an actual cap, and the other isn't very well sealed off with some electrical tape after the last thing fell off of it.

I've been trying to get more mpg. I'm probably going to get 15mpg on this tank. I put 225/50-15 tires on some Virgos(it does rub when the car is lowered, with block in the trunk, and with multiple people in it), and they have about a 1.75-2" wider tread patch than the outgoing tires, as well as a smaller overall diameter. Both working against me on the highway. So that's part of it. The other parts of it are my still sticking right rear brake(which now has a warped rotor because of it), and my aggressive use of the throttle.

And I've found that my left rear brake caliper leaks, lovely! Anyone have a left rear Girling hanging around that's good? Or should I just take this one off and get it rebuilt why I lay my car down to sleep to get stainless lines on the back that get rid of the bias valves back there, send off my carb to Rhys to get my choke cable connection fixed, and put a tighter steering box in there...
