Hey guys...
So I was driving this evening when the clutch pedal seemed kinda' mushy and after a while it was getting increasingly difficult to change gears, even with the clutch pressed all the way in. I checked the fluid in the reservoir when I got back home from my errand, and it was pretty much empty. Ugh! No indications of leakage inside the engine bay, but when I pulled away the carpet and firewall inside the car, looks like fluid had leaked inside from the clutch master. Double ugh!
This happened once before, not long after I took delivery of this car in February of this year. The spring inside the clutch master had apparently sheared and snapped, trashing the rubbers inside and leaking fluid inside the firewall. Needless to say, I replaced the bugger back in February--and after tonight's drive, I'm having feelings of deja vu!
Before I go out and get another clutch master and have that only last 6 or 7 months, has anyone experienced this type of problem so soon after a replacement? I'm not particarly abusive to the clutch pedal so I don't think it's wear from abnormal use. Is there something that isn't properly adjusted that could be accellerating the wear?
Thanks!
- Dan
