I am a very recent owner of a 1967 1800S. Really fun to drive, strong drive train, nice handling, but alas, no brake or tail lights. Upon inspecting the housing, lots of corrosion, power is in the wire leads, it just can't bridge all the corrosion to get to the bulb. Here is my quandry, I can replace both assemblies for new at about $450 total, or come up with a more cost effective solutiuon. It strikes me that I can perhaps solder a wire extension from the wire leads to a new Radio Shack bulb holder, and stuff the whole assembly back into the fixture bypassing the eaten away socket holder. Seems like this can at least make it safe to drive at night.
Any other experiences out there I can perhaps draw upon??
