Hi Guys,
I have a strange problem and wonder if anyone else has this going on. To tell the truth, I did something foolish. I bought an 86 wagon here in the rusty northeast. Some of the electrical items have had intermittent problems- it was the fuses. They were corroded like hell- typical for these things. Anyway, I use a small cordless drill and a small wire wheel to clean the contacts and also all the ends of the fuses. However, I forgot to disconnect the battery(like an idiot) while cleaning the contacs in the fuse panel. I think that I shorted across some of the positive contacts.
Now, even with no key in the car and no headlights lights on, several of the dash lights blink and fade in and out constantly. Almost all of them are on at some time, such as the battery, oil, overdrive, etc.
I can put the key in and start the car and the lights behave normally. However, I know something is wrong here, and cannot figure it out. This will run the battery down and is strange.
Anyone else had this happen?
